This southern Mexican treat consists of two thick corn tortillas stacked with meat, black beans, boiled potatoes, green salsa and crema, sprinkled with queso fresco. Typically you'll get one with chorizo (spicy pork sausage) and one with pork surtido, a close relative of bacon. Tenoch's owner Alvaro Sandoval tells me this is a traditional breakfast in his home city of Veracruz, and if you stop by during breakfast hours at the Medford shop, you can get a scrambled egg on yours to make it an official breakfast dish.
Garnachas are not currently available on the Tenoch Movíl food cart, but they're worth a trip to the Medford Square or North End locations.
